This restaurant is fantastic to say the least. The service is great and the food is even better. I ordered the shawarma in chicken and beef/lamb. It came with rice and other vegetables. It was very tasty and presentable. We also ordered, among other things, the veggie combo. It came with several different types of food. All of which were delicious. Another person in our party ordered food and it came out as a plate of raw meat. Not exactly what she thought she was ordering. The waitress explained what it was. She talked to the cooks and they took it back and baked it for her. It came back out baked and presentable in a completely different way. The waitress explained that this was the first time she had seen this dish. All the meals were excellent and the staff was very accommodating. The restaurant is very nice and clean. Love this place.
Disappointment. I checked out the menu before trying this place and when I got there the menu on their site and what they gave me were not the same. Being vegetarian I decided to get the falafel pizza. Sounded interesting since I did not have much options. Well what a waste of my money. The first problem started when I asked for no onions and got onions. I hate sending food back but I absolutely hate onions and made it clear to omit it. Everyone at my table got their food while I sat their for 25 min before getting my meal. Guess what!! ONIONS!! At this point I said nothing and picked at the pieces of falafel. I mean for $10.99 the quality and quantity of what I paid for was a complete joke. I pretty much paid for 2 pieces of falafel since I ate nothing else. The "crust" if that is what you want to call it was soggy. The dish made no sense what so ever. I almost feel like they dumped all the left overs on a pita since they could not come up with a vegetarian entree. Had I known I was going to get crap I would have paid $6 for falafel appetizer or some humus. The only positive thing I have to say about this place is the belly dancer. She was engaging and good.

I was excited to find a Lebanese restaurant as they are hard to come by in south Florida. When we got there, the place was packed filled with huge parties of 15 or more- families obviously from Lebanon. This is always a sign for me that the food must be good. We weren't disappointed! Excellent hummus, falafel and mujadhara. Our friends had the chicken and the salmon and seemed very impressed. The food was good, the atmosphere was lovely and we will def be coming again. Just took off 1 point because the staff could have been a little more friendly but then again I think they were just busy.

Great little Lebanese restaurant just South of the Carousel in the open air mall on the Southeast corner of Copans and US1. The Veggie Combo was an excellent selection of some of their popular appetizers. The Grilled Halloumi Cheese was also delightful. They have inside and outside seating and a nice wine list. Will definitely be back.

It was good just not great. I have to give it another try. I was in a rush and got a couple things to go. Usually better to eat the food there at the restaurant. I tried a falafal wrap and of course I can't walk out of a Lebanese restaurant without trying the baclava. The falafel had good taste. The wrap was a little dryer than they usually are but all in all there was a good flavor profile going on there. The baclava was good but again not great. I'm definitely not a connoisseur of this cuisine. I don't get to enjoy this type of food as much add I'd like just due to the fact that there's hardly any by where I live. I always enjoy this food better when I'm enjoying it with friends. Next time I'll actually take the time to enjoy it there in house and give a better review.

If you're looking for the most authentic Lebanese food then this is the place for you. I've been here several times and tried most of the menu by now with absolutely no disappointments. The shish tawook plate and the mixed grill platter are just two of my favorites on the menu. Oh and the mint lemonade is absolutely delicious! The service is always on point and the managers are constantly checking in with customers. Great overall!

A really fun place for satisfying your middle eastern cravings! Went there for lunch with a few friends and we had a really good time. The space is intimate and cozy, wait staff us a little slow but super friendly and interesting Lebanese wines and beer

Cute Lebanese Grill located adjacent to the carousel in Pompano Citi Centre. Offers options for indoor seating in a quaint setting, or outdoor seating to enjoy the weather. Hookah also available. We came here in 2012 and remembered the food and service were good so decided to eat here with family and friends after the Halloween event. Unfortunately, both quality and service has declined immensely since our last visit! You know you are in for a bad experience when thirty minutes later you are still waiting on the BABY's apple juice and hear the neighboring table raving about the white boiled rice (while avoiding everything else on their plate!). Service is SLOW and the food lacks appeal, taste and plating- essentially nondescript- "blah". Our food arrived close to 40 minutes after ordering, and the fish was still raw (and stinky). Our dishes lacked appeal from first glance- literally looked like diner food. We ordered: - Salmon Filet Platter - Shwarma - Falafel Grilled Salmon served with rice and vegetables. The fish arrived still raw and almost frozen within. It was completely inedible so we had to send it back. They "recooked" it and presented us with a fish that had a severe fishy smell. Eew! Shwarma Platter was avg to below avg The Shwarma was described as seasoned beef/ lamb combo chopped and served with rice and vegetables (or fries). The diner style platter arrived with a thin layer of chopped meat on the side of an ice cream scoop of rice with a few baby carrots on the side. Guess what? The rice WAS the best thing on the plate!! Falafel was chopped and served with chopped salad. The salad was a basic chopped romaine. This dish was actually pretty good- light with fresh lettuce. It would have been nice to know what dressing was tossed in. (I inquired a few times and couldn't quite catch what the sauce was called). Overall- not sure if I will return. I do remember having a nice experience here two years ago, so maybe they just had a VERY OFF night?!? Undecided.

The food was amazing and service even better I ordered bamieh and lamb stew with white rice , the lamb was perfectly cooked and soft not chewy like other middle eastern restaurants. The price was ($15), its good for this amazing meal.

The food was very very expensive!!! It was not enough tasty and also it is completely different from other middle eastern places. They also have hookah and it was good outside. I would say u can try once. But it was expensive and not worth for that money

First visit for an early dinner. They were not busy, but it was early. Staff very friendly and helpful in explaining parts of the menu. My meal was falafel and hummus. Both were very good and clearly made in house. My friend had the mixed grill kabobs and he enjoyed it. They brought some pita bread with an herb mix (mixed with oil) to start. Really inventive and yummy, dried herbs and sesame seeds. I definitely recommend Shiska Grill and want to try their location at Gulfstream Park.

I tried Lebanese food for the first time tonight. We ordered multiple appetizers to be able to sample many dishes. -fatayer -sfiha -fried kibbeh -sujuok -shawarma pizza My favorite was the sujuok which is a spicy sausage served in a tomato sauce. They do not serve appetizers with any dipping sauce. We requested a dip and the waitress brought us tahini. It definitely added to the flavor of our apps. Upon sitting down they have warm pita in a plastic sandwich bag and a dipping oil with spices. For dessert, we had the Knafe. We were told it would be an orange flavored cake with cheese. It came with a syrup that tasted like simple syrup with anise. Overall, I wasn't overly excited about any of the dishes. I found Labanese food to be mild in flavor. I prefer Greek food with the tzatziki and the stronger garlic/dill/cucumber flavors. I'm glad I tried Labanese food, but wouldn't rush to eat it again. The service was great and it was a nice ambiance. They have labeled food pictures on the wall which helps with choosing what to order. If you go on Saturday, there is a belly dancer.

If you're craving Arabic food near Ft.Laud/Pompano....your choices are...we'll we're here. The food itself is good....the staff very helpful... the location average. Located inside Pompano Citi Centre.... mostly "B" tenants....alot of empty spaces for rent... escalators always barricaded... being repaired....with signs for Chuck E. Cheese upstairs. INSIDE: As you walk in.....open kitchen and service counter in front of you. The counter is home to the cashier, but also serves as a display for Lebanese pastries.....baklava....tea...etc The setting is nice.....polished wood tables.....Hukkah display...cozy....not very large but plenty of seating. OUTSIDE: Patio tables.....basically placed in the common area of the outdoor mall....people walking around the mall....brightly lit...not a romantic outdoor restaurant feel.... view of the other store fronts. Ordered Kafka Kabob....excellent...actually improved since the last time we were here. (Kafta kabob was much better than the regular kabob) Kabob has to be served and enjoyed hot...right off the grill....and it was. Very juicy and tasty. I think what happened last time is...... we were here with a large party..... by the time everyone's food was ready to be served....the kabobs had sat in the plate for a while and that 'right of the grill' taste was gone. This time we were 2 couples..and the food was hot.....very good. The Kibbe Nayeh....which is best described as the arabic world's "beef tartar" is mainly raw meat....seasoned and prepared with spices...which by the time it is served.....looks like a work of art. Let me first say..this is not an easy thing to make at home.....and for those of us who love this dish..... we look for places where Kibbe Nayeh is served...Shishka deserves 5 stars for this dish. Very well prepared....presentation...taste...etc Overall.....Shishka is a nice place to get the craving for Arabic food out of your system in Ft. Lauderdale/Pompano. Is it a 5 Star restaurant?? No....but it's not trying to be one either. It's simply a family style grill...where the food and service are good. Deserts are offered....tea....coffee...etc... all nice. In Miami......my choice for Lebanese food by far is Maroush Restaurant......on a whole other level. ....but here in Broward, Shishka satisfies the craving for Arabic food. It's worth a try....don't expect fine dining....but overall....you'll be happy.

Took a chance on Shiska after reading all the wonderful reviews in Yelp. The food is so good that I ate here three times in one week! We ordered the tabouli, hummus, falafel, and babaganoush platter. I make these vegetarian dishes and think they are on to something special. Also ordered a shawarma and a kabob that was juicy and delicious. I thought the ice cold Lebanese lagers were a good refreshment on a hot Florida day. Many of the Lebanese and Persian customers were enjoying some nice smelling shiska at their outdoor tables. The wait staff were all super sweet and helpful. The Turkish coffee was excellent and muddy too. The bathroom and restaurant were spotless. I was impressed with the restaurant and the cleanliness. Come and sit outdoors and enjoy excellent flavors of Lebanon!
What a fun place to visit! As some mentioned, Shishka may make you feel wary, considered it is nestled in a mall off of Federal Highway, tucked away, and not easily visible from the street. It shares the same mall space as Subway, an Italian restaurant, and a barbershop, among other things. You may start thinking this place is probably unauthentic based on that sole fact, and you may assume it's probably dead inside, but you'd be wrong. The place is full and bustling, both in terms of indoor and outdoor seating. We walked in and I read somewhere that the belly dancing ends at 10. Darn, I thought. I was hoping to catch the belly dancer and it was around 10:03. Nevertheless, my friend and I were quickly guided to our table and ordered our meal. My friend admired the hookahs, big and small, lined up on a shelf on a back wall, in all kinds of shades. We heard people speaking in Arabic all around us, including the owner with some of the wait staff, a good sign as to the authenticity of the place. Suddenly, the music got loud, and my friend said "oh boy, there she is...looks like you got your wish", and as he said that, the belly dancer started approaching the table behind me, which contained a large party. Yay! Some of the older women got up and started dancing with her. She was energetic, pretty, and with a killer figure. She approached me and asked me to dance, so I did. I did my best to imitate her, and she kept adding more complex moves, including something that resembled twerking while shaking your chest. I was blushing at this point from all the attention, though I was having fun. We danced for a few minutes, she complimented my friend (or me?) by saying "you're a lucky man", and I could see the seriousness on his face. I realized that all this attention made him uncomfortable so I tried to stifle my giggles. It made me feel good though to hear that I was a decent dancer, as I have always wanted to learn belly dancing. After the belly dancer moved on to other tables, we got a complimentary sample of appetizers, which is brought to every table. It consisted of a dip into which olive oil is stirred (I don't know what it was, it seemed like ground up coriander, which when mixed with olive oil, turns into a paste-like dip), pita bread, pickled turnips, and green olives. I love pickled turnips and ate them all. My friend was more than happy to share, as he does not like them. For an appetizer, I ordered foul (or as some of you may know it, ful), which are fava beans that are mashed, made into a stew and served with oil and lemon juice mixed in. It was served rather hot. This was my first venture into foul, I had seen it on menus before and was told by a Greek friend it is good, so I decided to be adventurous and order that. It's big enough to share, and after eating it, I was already feeling somewhat full, even though I had yet to get my entree, which was the Bamieh stew. The Bamieh stew consists of a tomato-based broth containing chunks of lamb and cut-up okra. I assume it is slow-cooked, based on the fact that the lamb was breaking in pieces as you picked it up. I have been told that slow-cooked meats tend to be very tender, so that's my assumption. The okra was not slimy, it was somewhat firm, with the texture of a raisin. I was hoping they'd use long-grain rice and almonds, as that is more authentic to Lebanese cuisine than plain white rice, but they didn't. The stew was delicious. The waitress mentioned that this is one of the best items on the menu, so I was glad about my choice. I had the pomegranate lemonade to drink, which was unique (I have never seen this anywhere), and delicious. I was unable to eat most of my meal due to the filling foul, so I packed it up and had it for dinner the next day (by the way, it tastes just as good the second day). There were several dessert options, but my friend wanted the same thing he ALWAYS gets at Lebanese, Turkish and Middle Eastern places: baklava. B-O-R-I-N-G! I begrudgingly accepted, as I wanted Kanafeh. I was not impressed with the baklava dessert. I thought it was too dry, barely dipped in syrup, and it was so hard to cut that the fork left a big dent on my finger, and not a single piece broke off despite my valiant efforts. I am wondering if these come out of a box, meaning they aren't baked there due to the fact it seemed somewhat stale as well. In case it was not already obvious, I was not in love with the dessert option, sadly. Overall, the ambiance is a 5 for fun (Lebanese music + belly dancer), the food is a 4.0-4.5 (unlike most Lebanese places I have been, they have other options than the usual shawarma and kebabs, so kudos, that earns them points), and the dessert was a 2.5 for me. They are opening a sister restaurant at Gulf Stream, which should be in operation by the end of March. It is called Mijana, a good option for those living in Miami-Dade and not wanting to go as far north as Pompano Beach.

Awesome! I love this place. The Baba ghanouj is outstanding. My S.O. loves the Lamb shish kabobs and I always get the Shish Tawook (Chicken Kabobs) which come serve with a delicious Lebanese garlic sauce. I am surprised they don't serve the garlic sauce with more dishes, but if you ask for it they will serve it at no extra charge. The food is very fresh, dinners have the options to be served with Rice and veggies (steamed broccoli, cauliflower and carrots) or French fries, I always go with the rice and veggies - they are delicious. I also love the Veggie combo which consists of the Hummus, tabbouleh, baba ghanouj, falafel, grape leaves & fatayer (spinach pie). Very fresh food cooked in a healthy way! I wish they delivered however their take out is very fast. The only thing is that I wish their Pita bread was thicker, their pita is very thin, but this probably just personal preference, I have been knows to be a picky eater. Also, I wish they had steak kabobs, I don't eat Lamb so steak would be a great option to have.

Looooove this place, owners are great and pay complete attention to detail !

I got the Shawarma and my girlfriend got Fasolia Stew, both were $15.99 and both were delicious, aromatic, and plentiful. We got to-go trays and had enough for a light lunch the next day. Before the food even comes out they hook you up with pita bread to nibble on and different several things to dip it in. Service was good, the food was all the right temperature, and even after a beer and juice for me and some tea for the gf I got out of there under $60 after tax/tip. Great location for a first date - appropriately informal with a trendy vibe that reminds you of a nice sushi bar. The place is very clean, the tables are comfortably spaced, it's not too loud, but there is music playing so it's not awkwardly quiet. They have outdoor seating for your meal or post-meal hookah (in various flavors), and although the patio is technically part of the walking path of an outdoor mall, Shishka has succeeded in establishing its presence so that it might be considered the main attraction there. There's also a wide assortment of wines inside for anyone with that kind of palate. Overall, nothing particularly outstanding, but the fact that everything about it is above average is a quality often overlooked.

What a great little place! Amazing food and the girls are so nice. Everything is so flavorful. Family type of business with grandma supervising from the side. You don't see this type of tradition anymore. Come eat :-)

Wow what a disappointment. 30 minutes to get drink and the shwarma must have been carved from a 30 year old dead camel it was so dry. Won't be going back.

Staying on the beach in Pompano and found Shiska on Yelp. Love Mediterranean food, but never tried Lebanese. The restaurant is in a new shopping center off of Federal Highway, but who says authentic food has to come from a free standing building? The ambiance was good and overall, so was the food. Loved: - The Tabbouleh. Fresh made with chopped green onions; a nice twist. - The fried Kibbeh. My favorite, in general, but these were extra flavorful. - The Hummus. Very smooth and tasty. Liked Not So Much: - The Thyme, Sesame Seed and Olive Oil dip for the bread. Not much flavor. - Pita instead of fresh grilled Naan. No substitute for the latter.

My husband and I went here tonight for the first time and really enjoyed it! We had hummus shawarma that was amazing! And #31 and #37 on the menu which I can't pronounce or remember but I loved the flavors and felt it was very authentic! We will definitely be back! The rice that came with my husbands lamb was great! Now I know why it was packed at 9:30pm on a Sunday! There were a lot of people sitting outside and smoking hukkah and just enjoying themselves. It was very clean too. All around great experience.

First time eating here. I compare all Lebanese to the North Miami joint called Kabobji which is amazing. This was great! The service was great as well. My wife and I ordered the Fatoosh salad with beef shawarma on top, the veggie platter, and a dough stuffed with beef, lamb, and pine nuts. Everything was super tasty and spiced just right. You need to order the Mint Rose Water Lemonade! Amazing and addicting. Ended the meal with 3 little pieces of sweet baklava. Looking fwd to going back and trying new dishes. Only issue is that the plaza sorta sucks at night. It's the pompano mall plaza on Copans and Federal hwy.

Nothing special here. I have had some great and flavorful Lebanese food before and therefore this place just rates as OK. Instead of ordering a whole meal a few friends and I decided to ordered a bunch of items off the starter menu thinking we would get a good mixture of flavors. We were kind of disappointed with most of them except the shawarma pizza which was very tasty. Besides the bland food I didn't feel this place had much of an atmosphere. They do offer hookahs but you must smoke outside. It just seems that there are so many places available to try in South Florida that I would suggest passing this place up and finding something with better reviews.

This place is a hidden gem amongst the stores at this mall! The waitstaff is super nice, and attentive (but not too overbearing), and the food is top notch, especially for the moderate price. When you see actual Lebanese people eating there, you know you're in the right place.

My wife and I tried Shishka for the first time a month ago while in the area for business. We were looking for a light, vegetarian dinner. We liked it so much we went back three more times, including a small, family lunch celebration for my birthday. Very consistent quality of food and patient service. Having eaten Middle Eastern food for over four decades, Shishka rates as one of the most enjoyable I've had, offering very refined cooking. Sometimes Middle Eastern food can be heavy-handed with the over-use of garlic and onions to the point of completely masking other flavors. Not the case here. We have ordered several types of dishes, really enjoying the vegetarian platter for both lunch and dinner, and the chicken dishes, too. My father-in-law, a notoriously fussy eater of limited tastes (two slices of pizza and a soft drink), ordered Moloukhieh Stew...and I held my breath awaiting his reaction. Miraculously, he liked it quite a lot. The only oddity about that dish is the huge amount of rice they serve with it, enough for two adults really. (But who complains about portions being too large?) Feeling a bit more adventurous, we ordered the Mouhamara -- a dish I had never heard of before -- a mixture of walnuts, bread crumbs, red pepper, pomegranate, and molasses, because it just sounded so exotic. What a tasty surprise! Wonderful dish and generous portion. We've ordered it every time we go just so we can share it with others in our party. We don't drink alcohol, so I can't comment on the selection or pricing in that area. Contrary to other reviewers, I found the baklava to be wonderful because it was NOT swimming in syrupy goo, but instead was moist and nutty with flakey filo layers. As noted in other reviews, Shishka can be a bit difficult to find because it is located in an outdoor food court next to a Lowes, so you have to park and walk from a mall parking lot. Definitely worth the trip!

This was a weird experience, because we went during dinner rush and the place was empty. However, the Hummus Shararma was SO awesome, I (gasp!) used my fingers to get the very last little bit up. Good thing I washed them before I ate. What more can I say?

I grew up eating my Lebanese Mom's cooking, recipes passed down from her mother and grandmother. It isn't very often that I like restaurant food as well as Mom's, but I love Shiskas and so did she! My favorites are the arayes, the bamieh stew, and the garlic paste. Everything we've had has been delicious: kibby, shawarma, kabobs, sfiha, tabbouleh and more. My main problem is ordering too much because we love it all. Luckily the leftovers taste great, too!

Possibly the world's best Lebanese restaurant, outside of Lebanon. We brought a party of nine and ordered at least one third of the items on the menu. I sampled them all. Every dish was absolutely top notch. I ate myself silly. Order anything, you will not be disappointed. This place deserves 5 stars. Every member of our party felt so.

Ok.... I have to admit that walking in I was a big skeptical about this place. However, I was wrong to think that. The service was good, food plentiful, and it was freaking delicious....... I had the mixed grill, hubby had the shwarma, and kiddo had the kids chicken kabob. We also had some baba, pita, turkish coffee, and baklava. All VERY good. I hope they are still here when we visit next!

From the moment we walked in the door we had great service, great food, and great company. All of the food is excellent Lebanese home cooking at its finest. The food is super fresh and prepared to order. The veggie platter comes with Bubba gannosh, hummus, grape leaves, spinach pie, falafel, bread, and tabouli. All homemade fresh and delicious. The fatush salad is spot on Lebanese perfect with hand selected sweet and delicious tomatoes. Don't forget to ask for the zaatar it is true Lebanese zaatar add some fresh olive oil and you are good to go. We have been in Pompano for a full week and we've already eaten here 3 times. And each time was just as awesome as the first. The location is just a little off the beaten track but its well worth finding because it is a hidden gem in Pompano. Great job hope you don't change a thing.

If it's not too late (before 11pm) this is the place you should visit after going to the movies up the street. Don't be fooled with it's mall/food court first impression feel. This is a true, authentic restaurant. It's always a good sign when you have many Lebanese people frequenting the place. Sitting outside on a crisp night sharing shisha (aka a hookah) and sipping on hot spiced tea... sounds great, right? (BTW - they also sell the fruit-flavored tobacco for the hookas, if you're interested.) Everything we ordered was fresh and very tasty. The fig leaves were delicious - they melt in your mouth. The hummus was so creamy. The lamb platter was huge. Lebanese beer to top it off as well as a huge selection of wines. Our waitress had a sunny disposition and was so patient in explaining what the dishes were. We're definitely going back!

The Falafel Salad was tasty. The lamb stew was very bad. We asked for no meat in the stew since we are vegetarians but when it was served to us, we found that our request was ignored, and there were pieces of lamb. When we returned the dish and ordered a veggie combo instead, our pita bread wasn't brought out until the very end, which was a very essential part of the dish. Our daughter is not a vegetarian, but in the chicken dish that she ordered, the meat was slightly overcooked, although the meal was savory in itself. Some of the food was good, but the reason this restaurant only gets three stars is due to extremely questionable service.

The food was very good-Hummas, Tobouli, and Mixed Grill. The wine is way overpriced and not very good. They want a $25 corkage fee and now I know why.Next time it will be takeout with my own wine at home! Made another visit on 8/17/2013 with another couple. As usual the food was very good. Several appetizers and lamb shish kabobs, brought our own wine, very reasonable corkage $8.00. Very pleased, I recommend this place for anyone looking for something different and good food!

Every once in awhile I have to take a walk on the "wild" side and this last Tuesday evening brought me to Shishka Lebanese Grill in the New Pompano Citi Centre located at 1955 N Federal Highway. This cute Mediterranean food spot fills the air with with tantalizing aromas as you start getting closer to the door. They have outside as well as inside seating and you can eat in or get your order to go. I chose to dine inside and after being seated the server brought a light snack of green olives. I started with an appetizer of Tabboulah, a combination of parsley, onion, tomato, cracked wheat, lemon juice and olive oil. It was very tasty and warmed my taste buds for the entree that followed. My main course was the Mixed Grill which consisted of a skewer of Kafta Kabob, seasoned ground meat mixed with diced onion and chopped parsley, a skewer of ShishTabook, marinated chicken breast, served with Lebanese garlic sauce, and a skewer of Shish Kabob, marinated lamb cubes. To keep my carb count down I swapped the rice for veggies. Each bite was better than the one before as I rotated from lamb to beef to chicken and then back again. I spread the garlic sauce over the chicken to add an additional burst of flavor. The atmosphere was very typical of a Middle Eastern cafe with soft regional music in the background and succulent aromas in the air. I ended with a tiny cup of extremely strong coffee and was genuinely surprised when the owner stopped by the table to inquire about my meal. Shishka Lebanese Grill is not just another fast food mall joint. This place is the real thing and I am sure I will be returning to try some of the other items on the extensive menu.

Shishka has become a favorite for us. There are so few restaurants in the area, where the vegetarian fare is as excellent as here. We've been many times, and I can't recall anything but great food. My wife and I are vegetarians and a typical meal here for us is made of shared small plates....a Shiska namesake salad, humous, baba ghanouj, falafel, fatayer, and always the best foul I've ever tasted. Always save room for a small baklava, and if not too late, an Expresso. When I go solo, I order the vegetarian platter for a sampling of most of these. Ours was a chance discovery, but once found, Shiska has become a favorite, regularly revisited.

Coming from Dearborn, MI, this was a big let down. The lentil soup was unusual, not at all the texture, consistency or flavor that I'm use to...lacking the, light texture & citrus notes that I love... & the Fatoush salad was equally under welcoming. :-( It didn't help that the menu seemed a bit over priced. Won't be back.

The food was delish I ordered the shish chicken kabob platter came with rice and veggies or fries .. And I like the garlic sauce came on the side .., service was good I will definitely go back .,

My Lebanese friend took me here a few times and the food is really delicious. I'm not very familiar with Lebanese food but my friend says their dishes are authentic. My friend knows the owner so we were always well taken care of. They would bring out several different dishes and we would all share, which is definitely the way to go here. It's inside city place in pompano which used to be the Pompano fashion square mall. The gave the place a pretty nice renovation but unfortunately it sits half empty and there isn't much else to see or do if you were trying to make a day of it. Still definitely worth a try when you're in the mood for something different, or if you are a fan of middle eastern flavors.

If you have some sort of preconveived notion that it's impossible to get good Lebanese food in Broward County, let alone Pompano Beach, then I'll have to let you know you are damn right! Honestly can't understand the views about this place. I admit to being a food snob, but this is the blandest, quite possibly worst Lebanese food I have ever had. I could care less how many Lebanese people visit it. This is simply not how it's supposed to taste, trust me.

Awesome Place!!! Great Food and Service.. Would definitely come back and try their other flavors of hookah...

A great spot with attentive and friendly staff for an exotic and healthy meal. Dine on the best fare in the area, be seated inside or out, and relax with a hookah while you try some of their delicious appeteasers. The hummus was fresh and tasty - everything looked good and will be tried at some point in time- and our dinner selections delighted us. My mixed grill plate came with skewers of chicken, beef, and lamb that were prepared to perfection, along with rice and carrots. The grain and beef dish with cucumber soup was awesome too! Lots to try on this menu and desserts to explore on my next visit. The hookahs are a special touch and a favorite of this Yelper. Note 1/2: Inquire about the night when the belly dancers put on a show. Note 2/2: My hot dinner date wasn't too impressed by the wine menu, but I enjoyed the glasses we tried. Five stars dear & I suggest you definitely try Shishka too!

Glad we gave this place another try. Partner & I had dinner here on New Years Eve. Except for a huge party of 40 or 50 Lebanese we were the only other table there. The food was much better than the first time we were here. I'm sure we'll be back soon.

Had the Chicken shawarama and was not thrilled. It wasn't very good. They also had weak lemonade. It was very clean and the people were nice, but I don't think it was a great meal.

Really enjoyed our visit. The fried kibbeh was delicious, as was the grilled halloumi cheese. We really appreciated the olives and beets they gave us to get started. We will definitely go back so happy we found it.

very good food. I got the mixed grill which was delicious. The free appetizer plat of olives and marinated turnips was very good, too. They serve a lebanese beer that I had for the first time. Service was friendly and efficient. Highly recommended. I will go back when in the area. they have inside and outside seating. its located in an outdoor mall so the outside seating is kind of like a european cafe but not exactly. very pleasant on a nice evening.

Tiny restaurant tucked away in a strip mall. Doesn't seem like much at first, but the food did not disappoint! I am Egyptian and could testify to its authenticity. I had the lentil soup which was delish. had some Indian flavor to it which I appreciated. Had the fattoush which was rich in tangy Sumac flavor. The chicken kebab sandwich was sooo good and so was the lamb shawerma. the garlic dip that accompanied it complimented the meat perfectly. Wonderful lunch spot when you feel like some good arabic food!

Trying a whole new type of cuisine can be exciting yet challenging... I didn't know what half of the menu consisted of but the descriptions helped.. THEN I noticed that on the left hand wall they have pictures and captions of all their foods!! Suddenly I knew what that thinga-magig on the menu was!! I ordered the Vegetable Combo Platter... Came with a bunch of interesting little bites, one better than the next. My significant other had the lamb kabob with french fries, which I think he enjoyed!! Overall, I would go back and try some other new dishes!! PS Prices are pretty reasonable as well !

When walking in here I knew that I had struck gold! The ambiance is so warm and welcoming, the colors seem royal and the setting is comfortable. The waitress we had was so helpful and very nice, made us feel like we are at home! Food was delish, I had the shawarma and my gf had the mixed grill, both dishes were awesome! Definitely coming back with more friends, this spot is a hidden gem! Next time I'm comming at night, and will enjoy some shisha.

We went for a friend's birthday dinner. There was a small group of 6. The restaurant is small, and we were sat at a table right at the entrance. The hummus platter was good, but the dinner (lamb) was just eh. I wasn't impressed, I wouldn't go back unless invited for a special occasion.

Wow! Don't let the small location turn you away.. This is authentic, delicious Lebanese food. The standouts for me were the spinach pies, the falafel, the "raw" kibbe appetizer served with mint and onion.. Soo soo good! Also, the mixed grill with ground meat kabob, chicken, and lamb was excellent! They were out of a few things, such as grape leaves, but I look forward to trying them next time! 4-5 stars!! Superb!

Yum Yum Yum!!! Great place! Food is very authentic and Delicious!! Service is very good! You can have a great dinner and then go smoke hookah outside (or just have Arabic coffee). Been here twice in two weeks and absolutely great place! I want to say one of the best if no *the* BEST Mediterranean restaurant in Fort Lauderdale / Pompano area!

This place is kind of hidden in the Pompano Mall/ City Center. They have healthy and affordable food and good service. You can also smoke hookah on the outside patio. The lentil soup, falafel sandwich, and the chicken shawarma sandwich are sooo delicious! Also the Lebanese beer is pretty good. I eat here at least once a week and have never had a bad meal!

We found a menu in our menu drawer that had been dropped at the house a while back and after reading some very favorable reviews here at Yelp decided to give Shiska a try. Definitely worth the trip. It is located in the Pompano City Center with indoor and outdoor seating available. The food is excellent as is the service, the atmosphere is also quite pleasant featuring an open kitchen which my other half likes. The finger foods, olives, pickled beets, warmed pita breads and herbed dipping sauce were all very tasty. We ordered three appetizers Baba Ganouj, Chicken Livers and Fattouch salad and all were excellent. The veggies in the fattouch were crisp and fresh and the pita chips crispy, the baba ganouj was flavorful and creamy and the chicken livers were served in a delicious light garlic brown sauce. We split the Chicken Shiska which was grilled to perfection with a slightly browned outside while moist and tender inside, served with rice and steamed veggies. Our server was helpful and attentive. All in all an extremely pleasant dining experience at a very reasonable price. Two thumbs up and we will be back.

Wonderful little restaurant with authentic Lebanese fare. A must is the mouhamara appetizer. The food is all freshly prepared and delicious. A good indication is the many Lebanese families that are eating here each time we come. I don't love their pita, it's a bit chewy, but the dips are so good that it isn't a big problem. My husband is a carnivore and has enjoyed several of the chicken dishes.

I went here when I saw a sign for their falafel sandwich, as I can't find my Lebanese food very often. It was $5, the staff was friendly, the food was ready in under 5 minutes, and probably the best falafel I've had. Fresh mint, pickled radishes, completely prepared with love! I cannot wait to go back for dinner to sit down and try more of their fare!

Only place we've found in S. Florida serving lamb shish kabob and it has been very good tho different from up north in that it is not served wit onions, peppers and tomatoes. It's curious that all the other Mediterranean area cuisine restaurants serve lamb chops but no other lamb. Soup and meat appetizers were good but both could have used more seasoning. Pickled olives and turnips served to everyone were very tasty. I agree the wait staff could use some training but they are pleasant enough. A man, presumably the owner, stands by their extensive Hookah collection and looks either angry or unhappy--I'm not sure which--maybe both. The prices for Lebanese wine were startlingly high. In summary, the lamb is so good that we can tolerate the minor shortcomings and hope that they pay enough attention to work on improving them. We will go back.

This place is amazing and so is the food. Everyone was so kind and helpful . as it was our first time there we didn't know what to get. they helped us choose some of the best lamb, beef and chicken seasoned in 7 different spices, the rice and veggies. It was fresh and piping hot. Everything was do delicious and affordable. I will definitely coming back here for dinner or lunch.

My wife and I went on a Saturday and there were just a few customers. We had dinner outside, it seems to be in a new strip mall. The food was very good, not great. The service however was below average. Our waitress was friendly, but inexperienced. We had Shish Kebab, Veggie Platter and Shanklish. We will give it another try.

Best Lebanese food in S. Florida. Friendly, informal restaurant. Great selection of well prepared, delicious food. It comes out quickly too so bring your appetite! They serve wine but no spirits. If you want Arak, you can bring your own.

This place has only been open for about 6 weeks, and is already turning out to be one of the best Lebanese/Middle Eastern places in the area. To drink, I'd recommend the ayran, which is a salty yogurt drink, that's kind of like drinking buffalo mozzarella. It may be a bit of an acquired taste (my dining companion didn't like it), but I certainly enjoyed it and I think some other people would as well. To start, we shared the Veggie Combo, which comes with Hummus, Tabbouleh, Baba Ghanouj, Falafel, & Fatayer. I must say, that was probably the best tabbouleh I've ever had in my life. It was really fresh and really green. I've never been a big tabbouleh fan, but theirs is done right and is really good. The falafel is cooked perfectly, still warm and soft inside like it's supposed to be. The baba ghanouj is also among the best I've ever had. The fatayer, which is sort of a spinach turnover, was also good. The only disappointment was the hummus, which was sort of bland, and the tahini. I love hummus, and usually like it more than baba ghanouj, but here I prefer the baba ghanouj. For entrees, I got the Shawarma and my DC got the Shish Kabob. The shawarma was nice and tender and flavorful. The tahini was better this time as well. The shish kabob she had was nicely grilled too. The rice and vegetables we had as sides were also well cooked. On to dessert, we got both the baklava and the knafe. We hadn't had the knafe before. If you're not familiar with it, it's sort of like a warm soft cheese pastry with a simple syrup. It was very good. Baklava is almost always good, and they do it very well here. I'd definitely come back and eat here again when I'm in the Pompano Citi Centre area. I'd probably give this place 5 stars if the hummus had been up to par (I'm a stickler for good hummus, I guess).

My family and I just got back from our first experience at Shishka Lebanese Grill. The food was great and the service was amazing. My son has food allergies, to nuts and dairy, and they cooked his food separately and were very aware of which food had the allergens we tried to avoid. Our server was so sweet, and the manager and the chef went out of their way to make us feel comfortable and to accomodate our needs. The restaurant was clean, inside Pompano Citi Center -a mall that has been totally redone. There is also outside seating where its pleasant and you can leisurely enjoy hookah and have a turkish coffee. There were families with children and couples as well. Looking forward to going back for more. J.G. Boca Raton

where do I begin? well lets just say there wasn't a good beginning. I walk into the restaurant with my boyfriend and were like "uhhh hello? anybody here to greet us?" NO there wasn't! so we walk up to the counter and ask "sit anywhere?" the girl replies with a "yes" We then find a nice spot outside and seat ourselves. same girl comes outside and asks us what would we like to drink. I picked water not because I'm cheap, just because that's what I drink and I get a evil face about it. My boyfriend orders ice tea and shows her a coupon that we received in the mail (which was what brought us to the place). She says we can use it, so we order but she doesn't inform us that this coupon is not valid for the items we ordered... WELL HELLO THAT'S WHY WE SHOWED IT TO YOU IN THE FIRST PLACE not because we think this little rectangle magazine clipping is pretty. Service was OK not great. The waitress also wasn't good at describing what came in or with our food. I asked, she said one thing and it was something else. That was our first time there... and our last.

I haven't had a chance to try the food yet, but the hookahs are really awesome and affordable. They don't charge you for extra coals like other crappy hookah bars do. They range in price from 10 to 15 dollars and they smoke really thick. I will be back to try the food soon, since I had such a pleasant hookah experience. Very authentic.

I totally dig this place. I don't give it a total 5 stars only because I seem to get the same waitress every time and her service is only marginal compared the to food and menu. I'd say if they up the service some, this place is a home run every time.

It is not often that a restaurant delivers gourmet food at fast food prices. Shishka does it. My date and I had no trouble getting a table on a rainy Sunday night, but she had been there the previous Saturday night for the belly dancer show, and she said the place was jumping. She was so impressed with the food she wanted to return. We had a nice outside table overlooking a courtyard. No traffice noises. For an appetizer we ordered the falafel - 4 large pieces served with tahini sauce. Excellent, but order extra sauce. We also got the Hummus Shawarma, strips of tender beef on a bed of hummus. Excellent, and a meal in itself. My date ordered Cornish game hen. I always thought Cornish game hens were a lot of work separating a little meat from a lot of bone. But at Shishka the hen is served boneless. My date loved it. I ordered Chicken Shishka, 2 large pieces of chicken breast with cilantro, tomato, onion, and garlic served with rice. They made it extra spicy for me. Wonderful. For dessert we shared a very good baklava. So our meal consisted of one bottle of Lebanese beer, 2 glasses of wine, 2 appetizers, 2 entrees, and one dessert. The bill was about $56 plus tax and tip, and my date had a $10 coupon! We took home 3 doggy bags. They also have Hookah pipes with many flavors to choose from. This is a gem.

I wasn't all that excited about going to Shiska for lunch as Lebanese cuisine has never been that much of a turn on for me. What's more is that if there is any background music I do not like it's that screechy Lebanese noise such restaurants always seem to insist upon playing rather loudly. However, since I was with a group, most being vegetarians I went along with the program and rather glad that I did. The restaurant, unlike most Lebanese restaurants I have been to was spotlessly clean, had a nice modern eye appealing interior décor and no foul kitchen smells. Our service was accommodating, helpful and polite. For our meal we decided to sort of share around so I got to have a wide tasting of a good number of their dishes such as their hummus, a good blend of chick peas, garlic, tahini, lemon juice and olive oil, which turned out to be rich in flavor, creamy in texture and pleasant to the taste. Also their house Shiska salad of extremely find chopped green onion, lettuce, green pepper, tomato and radish with lemon juice and olive oil which turned out to be a really good, refreshing salad combination especially when enjoyed with their pita bread. As for the other dishes I had or tasted, the names and exact ingredients escapes me, but I found them all to be very good and some of the best I've ever had at Lebanese or Middle East type restaurants. Also, which was good for me, they kept what is that horrid screechy Lebanese noise they call music in those part of the world to a low; but of course that is merely a personal preference type of opinion.

(5)Hank R.

Great food, attentive service, main courses between $15-20. Did not try wines or deserts. Place is a little hard to find, but it is worth it

Undecided.

Did not go to the restaurant, but an off site event that they catered for.... The food is FANTASTIC.

The food was amazing and service even better I ordered bamieh and lamb stew with white rice , the lamb was perfectly cooked and soft not chewy like other middle eastern restaurants. The price was ($15), its good for this amazing meal.
(5)Chili A.
The food was very very expensive!!! It was not enough tasty and also it is completely different from other middle eastern places. They also have hookah and it was good outside. I would say u can try once. But it was expensive and not worth for that money
(2)Jon K.

Please please DO NOT EAT here!! Me and my fiancé got their meat shawarma wrap Lebanese style. While we were eating we realized that the meat was chewy and his wrap's shawarma was tasting weird. He disregarded his and didn't eat anything else. 2 hours later he ended up having severe diarrhea and vomiting that lasted 4 days. Ended up in emergency room. He got a severe food poisoning . A month ago we tried their wrap and the shawarma was really disgusting so we garbaged the whole order, but this time we thought to give a second chance and this happened. We used to go there much more often when they just opened up , the prices were more reasonable and for the price the food was good, but in the past 2 years their prices kept on going up and the quality went down the drain. They keep cooked shawarma meat since they don't sell everything and God knows how they store their food. The vegetable they use is frozen vegetable instead of fresh one , you can see it from the color and the meat and chicken shawarma is not fresh any more. I consider my self lucky not getting as sick as him. I didn't get food poisoning but since then I have severe acid reflux and taking med for it. Physician stated that the food must have had toxins as well as bacteria that causes different effects in both of us. I will never return for another meal.

There's a reason why they are opening a second location, they are outstanding and top notch at this Lebanese restaurant! Schwarma is great Get the sampler to start Grape leaves... Sooo good U cannot go wrong with any of the amazing tasting food in this paradise of unique seasonings u will never find in boring American food! Looooove this place, owners are great and pay complete attention to detail !
(5)John B.
(5)Benjamin A.
What a great little place! Amazing food and the girls are so nice. Everything is so flavorful. Family type of business with grandma supervising from the side. You don't see this type of tradition anymore. Come eat :-)
(3)Mark S.
Wow what a disappointment. 30 minutes to get drink and the shwarma must have been carved from a 30 year old dead camel it was so dry. Won't be going back.
(1)John H.

(4)Sandra W.
Me and my family enjoy this place they have good food and on Saturdays they have belly dancing!
(4)Luis M.
The vegetarian option is to die for! One of the best hummus and falafel ever! Service is awesome as well.
(5)Alexa L.
Very good food at reasonable prices. Lamb was cooked PERFECTLY. Everything was fresh and well made. Service was a little slow, but the staff was very friendly and accommodating. We'll be back!
(4)Jim J.
I ate there again with my nephew sunday jan 25th it was superb food again i had the baba gush (eggplant) app and no 41 lamb stew wirh okra it was to die for with rice my nephew had the no 40 i took the leftovers home and a t salad my nephew did not eat the service was excellant and the server was great sat outside again try this place its a hidden jewel in the pompano citi center
(5)Jonathan A.
(4)Kristen T.
(3)Benjamin S.

(5)Colleen E.
This was a weird experience, because we went during dinner rush and the place was empty. However, the Hummus Shararma was SO awesome, I (gasp!) used my fingers to get the very last little bit up. Good thing I washed them before I ate. What more can I say?
(5)Leanne S.
(5)Adam S.
(5)Jennifer H.
(4)Alfonso G.
Finally a good place close to Boca Raton to eat Lebanese Food, excellent creams, sanklish and lamb kebabs, very good service, cero pretentious, good price, and the best Lebanese around!!!
(5)Jeff L.
(5)Lynne D.
Awesome food. Excellent service. Great prices. Couldn't ask for anything better. I will revisit this place regularly. Loved it!!!!
(5)Talia G.
(4)Surf W.
Great ful medamas and falafel salad. The seasoning is subtle and not overbearing. Great job on the baklava. Planning to go back!
(4)Mark L.
This place is unbelievable. If your in the area you need to come. If your not in the area you need to make the trip. Do whatever it takes. Best food I've had. Hands down. Clean, healthy, on point, I can't stop talking about how good this place is.
(5)Bia S.
Excellent Lebanese food, can't even describe one single item because they are amazing. Great lunch special, the app salad is so fresh and crunch!!! Hummus is to die for. And the veggie combo is definitely a great option for vegetarians!!!!.:") please try this place u won't regret :)
(5)Kim P.
Food was yummy. We had the hummus and had the pita toasted. We also ordered the shiska salad with chicken was delicious. Our server Linda was exceptional.
(5)Raghu H.
(3)J M.
Not bad I had batter food to slow to get going visited today and I had appetizers food was average cold night we had to site outside couldn't enjoy the food I had batter experience.
(2)Burt M.
(4)Nate H.
Very good place. If you like middle eastern / Israeli food. Price is ok. Order the falafel!
(4)David M.
(5)Lee B.
(5)Debra W.
(2)Michelene S.
The food was delish I ordered the shish chicken kabob platter came with rice and veggies or fries .. And I like the garlic sauce came on the side .., service was good I will definitely go back .,
(4)Kobe D.
(4)S M.
(2)Mauricio G.
Awesome Place!!! Great Food and Service.. Would definitely come back and try their other flavors of hookah...
(5)Mariam D.
(5)T T.
Glad we gave this place another try. Partner & I had dinner here on New Years Eve. Except for a huge party of 40 or 50 Lebanese we were the only other table there. The food was much better than the first time we were here. I'm sure we'll be back soon.
(4)Jacob Y.
Had the Chicken shawarama and was not thrilled. It wasn't very good. They also had weak lemonade. It was very clean and the people were nice, but I don't think it was a great meal.
(2)Pj C.
Really enjoyed our visit. The fried kibbeh was delicious, as was the grilled halloumi cheese. We really appreciated the olives and beets they gave us to get started. We will definitely go back so happy we found it.
(5)jeff s.
very good food.
(5)Sarah E.
(5)Daisy P.
(4)Jiten P.
(5)Tea s.
Really great food! Will return again!
(4)Michele B.
We went for a friend's birthday dinner. There was a small group of 6. The restaurant is small, and we were sat at a table right at the entrance. The hummus platter was good, but the dinner (lamb) was just eh. I wasn't impressed, I wouldn't go back unless invited for a special occasion.
(2)Tiffany G.
4-5 stars!! Superb!
(5)Tamar K.
(5)Sarah P.
(5)J B.
Absolutely "AMAZING" Guys!!! I wish you all the best of luck!!!! Amazing Mouthwatering FOOD, Great Chef(s), Genuine Owners, Friendly Wait Staff with Excellent Servicell!!! Overall 10 out 10 Restaurant!!! Hookah too... GREAT JOB AGAIN =)
(5)Rick D.
(5)Jessica B.
(4)Ken G.
Delicious, friendly staff, fast service, reasonable prices. The Tobouli is outstanding. I go here often.
(4)Anne G.

Excellent! Everything is always so fresh and perfectly seasoned. You know it's good when it's packed with Lebanese people every time we go. Outstanding!

Fantastic food at a great price, and great staff. Food was cooked perfect not loaded with salts and other crap. Just fresh meat with authentic spices. I am defiantly going back.

J.G. Boca Raton

Outside od New York / New Jersey area the best Lebanese food... I was born in Lebanon and was skeptical of the food.... This place blew me away... Authentic mama cooking with no compromise on traditional flavor.

Food is ok. But the service is horrible. Rude owner as well. Will not go back.

where do I begin? well lets just say there wasn't a good beginning.

My husband is Lebanese so we go to Lebanon often and this is by far the most authentic delicious Lebanese food we have ever had. If you are on the fence about going don't be you will LOVE it!!!!
